A motorcycle-borne suicide blast struck near the Chashmai checkpost in Miranshah, North Waziristan, close to a market and residential area. Initial information indicates militants detonated an explosives-laden motorcycle in a civilian locality. Emergency teams have shifted the wounded to nearby hospitals. At least 13 civilians, including two children, have been brought to hospital with burn injuries; several are in critical condition.
